Dual Degree programme


Upper Austria

The Second degree course in computer science has a "dual-degree" agreement with the Master's Degree programme in Software Engineering, of the University Of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Hagenberg Campus. Students participating in the dual degree programme take their first year of studies at their home university and their second year of studies, including the preparation of the final thesis project, at the host university. After defending their thesis project at both home and host university they will obtain the Italian "Dottore Magistrale in Informatica" as well as the Austrian "Master of Science in Engineering" degree.

Currently the agreement limits the number of exchange students to 3 per academic year.

Application procedure for Unical students

To apply for participation in the dual degree programme for the academic year 2015/2016 please contact the coordinator of the degree course.

The students will be selected through a call for application issued by the University of Calabria. They shall be nominated, by the home institution, by November 15 of their first year of studies and attend the host university in the following academic year. Application papers shall be submitted to the host Department. Candidates will be informed about their admission to the Master Degree programme in Software Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Hagenberg Campus after entrance and language requirements as well as credit recognition have been clarified.

Fellowships and Tuition

In order to support the expenses in the context of the dual degree agreement with the University of Applied Sciences, Upper Austria, the following opportunities are available:

Students will pay the tuition fee of the second year of the Master Degree programme only at their home institution. The present agreement is also applied to the students who participate in the student exchange programme without official scholarship from the home university. In this case, the students have to cover the expenses of the respective universities, including travel, accommodation, food and any other cost related to their stay in the host institution themselves.

Université d'Artois


The Second degree course in computer science has a "dual-degree" agreement with the Master Informatique - Parcous Intelligence Artificielle of the Université d’Artois, Arras Cedex, France. Students participating in the dual degree programme take their first year and first semester of the second year of studies at their home university and their second semester of the second year of studies, including the preparation of the final thesis project, at the host university. After defending their thesis project at both home and host university they will obtain the Italian "Dottore Magistrale in Informatica" as well as the French "Master Informatique – Parcous Intelligence Artificielle" degree.

Currently the agreement limits the number of exchang students to 10 per academic year.

Application procedure for Unical students

To apply for participation in the dual degree programme please contact the coordinator of the degree course. The students will be selected through a call for application issued by the University of Calabria. They shall be nominated, by the home institution, by September 30 of their first year of studies and attend the host university in the following academic year. Application papers shall be submitted to the host Department. Candidates will be informed about their admission to the Master Degree programme in Informatique at the Université d’Artois Arras Cedex, France, by October 15 of the same year after entrance and language requirements as well as credit recognition have been clarified.

Students will be exempted of the tuition fee but they will have to pay the ordinary fees only at their home institution for the semesters that are attended abroad. The present agreement is also applied to the students who participate in the student exchange programme without official scholarship from the home university. In this case, the students have to cover the expenses of the respective universities, including travel, accommodation, food and any other cost related to their stay in the host institution themselves.
