Diamante is in the very south of Italy, it is a touristic town on
the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria, about 450 Km from Rome, and about 250Km from Naples.

By Plane
The nearest international airport is Lamezia Terme (SUF), about 120 Km south of Diamante. There are daily connections with Milan (MXP,LIN), Rome (FCO), Bologna (BLQ), and Torino (TRN) operated by Alitalia (codesharing with Air France and Delta) and Air One (codesharing with Lufthansa). There is also a low-cost company, Alpi Eagles, flying from/to Venice (VCE).
In summer, there are also charter flights also from various German cities (operated by Germania/dba and Condor/Thomas Cook), Vienna (operated by Lauda Air and Germania/dba), Toronto (operated by Skyservice), Zurich (operated by Helvetic.com) and more. It is best to contact a travel agency to book and find out more about charter flights.
In the airport you either rent a car (Avis, Hertz, Maggiore, Europcar, Sixt, Auto Europe/Sicily by car, Thrifty/Italy by car, Targarent, Fincom rent, QuiCar). We suggest to take a bus.
Preite Bus operates daily between Lamezia Airport and Diamante. The full timetable from/to Diamante is available on the airport website. The bus stop is just in front of the airport, the destination of the bus is PRAIA A MARE. The bus goes north along the coast on the national road SS18 and takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach Diamante. A one-way ticket from Lamezia to Diamante is 5,16 EUR and can be purchased on board from the driver.

By train
For timetables, we refer to Trenitalia. Diamante is on the main line from Rome to Sicily, but most of the fast trains (Eurostar, Intercity) do not stop here. From these, one usually changes to a slower train in Salerno, Sapri, Scalea or Paola.

By bus

By car
Coming from the north, you should take motorway A3 (its northern end is Salerno) towards Reggio Calabria. Take the exit Lagonegro Nord and drive south on the national road SS18 for about 70Km, following signs to Praia a Mare and Scalea.
Coming from the south (e.g. Lamezia Terme Airport) use motorway A3 northbound and exit at Falerna (the first exit after Lamezia Terme) and take the national road SS18 north, following signs to Paola and Salerno, for about 110Km.
Note that, unlike most other motorways in Italy, A3 is toll-free. Information on traffic and maps can be found at the Autostrade web site.
