The project (http://www.ponricerca.gov.it/) is part of the National Research Program 2014-2020 and provides funding for scholarships for three years, co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF), in addition to those already funded by the University. The PON R&I 2014-2020 applies to the transition regions (Abruzzo, Molise and Sardinia) and the less developed regions (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sicily) in Italy. Indeed, the priority of the PON Objective R&I is the competitive repositioning of such regions in order to produce a structural value change to increase the ability to produce and use quality research and innovation for triggering an intelligent, sustainable and inclusive development. It therefore intends to step up cooperation with the business world and enable graduate students to “industrially” qualify their educational and research experiences, with repercussions on the areas targeted by the program. <

> The following students are currently supported by the programme: * '''Edoardo Scalzo''' - XXXV cycle * ''Supervisor:'' prof.ssa Francesca Guerriero * ''Project Abstract'': The project provides the study of "vehicle routing" (VRP) problems reviewed in a sharing-economy perspective, exploiting blockchain technology. Although VRP and its variants have been extensively studied, develop innovative solutions that allow you to make the most of the resources available (including ODs), maximizing profits, improving the service rendered to customers, setting eco-sustainable objectives and ensuring the service reliability, represent a very demanding challenge. In this context, Crowd-shipping and blockchain open new scenarios to explore in the field of freight transport logistics. The idea is to delegate the shipment of some orders to people (ODs) who transit the roads with their vehicles (resources used below), who decide to make small deliveries in the urban area in exchange for a reward and to ensure traceability of the goods delivered by the ODs. Based on the foregoing considerations, the proposed research activity will be focused on the analysis and study of the following aspects: 1) Dynamism of the environment: customer requests can arrive at any time, the same phenomenon can occur with regard to the availability of ODs. 2) Traceability of products and deliveries: use blockchain technology to manage deliveries, and collect information related to the products and actors of the transaction. 3) Use of intermediate Facilities (transit points): provide for particular points located in the urban area dedicated to ODs, where they can pick up the goods to be delivered to customers, based on their location. 4) Uncertainty: conditions such as traffic, low reliability of ODs, or unexpected events, can influence the delivery time of the goods and therefore the quality of the service offered.
