Associate Professor in Computer Science, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Calabria, Italy.

I was born in Cosenza (Italy) on January 23, 1973, where, after classical studies, I obtained the Master Degree summa cum laude in Mathematics in 1999 with a thesis about the simulation of complex systems with Cellular Automata. After graduation, I became member of the Empedocles Research Group of the University of Calabria (UNICAL - Italy). In 2002, I was Research Fellow at the CNR-IRPI of Rende (Italy), and became member of the High Performance Computing Centre (HPCC) at UNICAL. In 2004, I received the Ph.D in Artificial Intelligence with a thesis about Genetic Algorithms and their applications as general-purpose optimization models. In the same year I become research fellow at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at UNICAL. Since November 1, 2006, I'm Assistant Professor, and since February 5, 2020, Associate Professor in Computer Science at the same Department.
