Giorgio Terracina is Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Calabria.
CAREER
1999 - 2002 PhD in Electronic Engineering at the University of Reggio Calabria.
2002 - 2010 Assistant Professor INF/01 - Computer Science at the University of Calabria.
2010 - 2022 Associate Professor INF/01 - Computer Science at the University of Calabria.
COMMUNITY SERVICES
He is member of more than 60 program committees in conferences and workshops in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Databases, including IJCAI-ECAI 2022 (SPC), IJCAI 2021 (SPC), AAAI 2021, IJCAI-PRICAI 2020, ECAI 2014, ECAI 2020, IJCI 2016, IJCAI 2015, IJCAI 2011, KR 2012. Supervisor of 9 PhD theses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
He has been member of the Board of Directors of the University of Calabria (2009-2010), and Coordinator of the Unified Council of the Degree Course in Computer Science at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Calabria (2013-2016). He is currently Scientific coordinator of the Advanced Databases Research and Teaching Lab (AD Lab) and of the Advanced ICT Training Lab at the University of Calabria since 2009.
AREAS OF RESEARCH
His main areas of research refer to Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Bioinformatics. He is co-author of more than 160 scientific papers published in international journals and conferences of recognized prestige in the community including IEEE Transaction on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, ACM Transactions on Computational Logic.
PROJECTS
He covered roles of responsibility in several projects including POS "Fa.Per.M.E.", PON Governance and Institutional Capacity 2014/2020 "StartUPP - Models, Systems and Skills for the Implementation of the Process Office", PON "BA2Know - Business Analytics to Know, Networked Laboratory of Service Innovation", "INFOMIX: Boosting Information Integration" (IST-2001-33570).
