Research on the foundational and epistemological aspects of pedagogical knowledge. Intercultural education and pedagogy. Role of parenting dynamics in childhood pedagogy. Education and pedagogy in school teaching. Education of the person in complex society and lifelong learning.

Research: His main research interests are focus on finding nodes and symmetries among the theoretical aspects of education and their social implications. In particular his activity is concerned about, general pedagogy, intercultural pedagogy, pedagogy and education in childhood and Long Life Learning. The analyzes, the reflections, the pedagogical proposals resulting from this research work want to call the human being towards existential dynamics of authenticity and meaning, inviting him by means of an education properly intended to reject the invitation of liquid and reified modernity to close in himself and to seek fatuous satisfactions in materiality and approval, but rather to open himself to dialogue with the other with authenticity, with those who recognize him as a person who in turn wish to be seen as such. Today the world is populated by a variety of people who - as never before in human history - find themselves in the physical and virtual conditions of relating to each other. However, precisely in the time of communication efficiency there is a crisis of authentic and qualitatively significant relationships within which the human being can actually experience the other. The evolutionary rapidity with which our society has transformed over the past decades, the demographic, economic and cultural changes that have marked and continue to mark our time make the limits of our social system increasingly tangible within which inter-ethnic confrontation represents one of the most difficult and delicate situations. By composing and destroying with extreme rapidity, the gnoseological, experiential and even axiological apparatus of today's civilization does nothing but throw the human being into a dimension of continuous uncertainty that can be dominated only by going to the root of humanitas, that is, needs, tensions , of the yearnings more proper to human existence, dimensions that go beyond the contingency of the present, also directing it towards horizons of meaning and meaning. The relationship dimension of the subject within his training process makes the person himself alive, open and permeable to a profound confrontation with all otherness. This fundamental pedagogical assumption, analyzed and reiterated forcefully within the contemporary debate, today assumes a profound meaning in the planetary era which represents a mine from which it is possible to extract infinite possibilities of emancipation but which can, at the same time, become a dark labyrinth where it is always easier to get lost. The task of education, and in particular of formal education, is to provide the person with a cognitive, methodological and value beacon with which to face this precious opportunity by seizing its many positive sides and canceling, as far as humanly possible, the opportunities for conflict.

Since 2018 he was recognized as a professor associated with the national scientific qualification, ASN 2016 call, in the competition sector 11/D1.

Since 2015 he has been Editor in Chief of the Principia Educationis series at the Aracne Editrice in Rome, (Area 11 - Historical, philosophical, pedagogical and psychological sciences), The volumes of the series are subjected to double blind peer review and international scientific committee. The necklace is recognized by ANVUR.
