Short CV:
Pasquale Rullo is a full professor of Computer Science in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (Demacs) at the University of Calabria, Italy. In 1980 he joined CRAI, a research and application centre in Computer Science, where he headed the research division.
From 1992 to 1994 he was an associate professor at the University of Calabria.
From 1994 to 1997 he held a position of full professor in Computer Science at the University of Reggio Calabria.
Since 1997 he is full professor in Computer Science at the University of Calabria. In 1998 he has served as a visiting researcher at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) in Berkeley.
From 1999 to 2002 he was the Director of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Calabria. He was one of the founding members and, from 2013 to 2018, president of a research spin-off of the University of Calabria.
He is currently president of the competence centre ICT-SUD.
He has worked on database design for many years, and his current interests are in the area of Artificial Intelligence, mainly in data/text mining, big data analytics, and knowledge representation and reasoning.
He authored over 60 papers in refereed journals (Artificial Ingelligence, Information and Computation, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, Journal of Logic Programming, Logic and Computation, etc.) and conference proceedings. He has participated to several projects sponsored by the European Union and the Italian Research Council.
He was the team leader of several industrial research projects.
